What does a Day-of Coordinator Do?
A day-of coordinator helps busy people who have done most of the planning themselves by managing things on the actual day of the event. The price is usually determined based on the size of the event, the location, and the scope of duties involved. Some companies offer packages at a set price that include the day-of, the rehearsal, and maybe some planning time. The clock on most day-of packages begins 4-6 weeks out; until then, the client is on their own. Examples of assistance included in most day-of packages include: Detailed timelines and layouts, help with set up of decorations and personal items, directing the ceremony, assisting guests, managing the flow of traffic, overseeing the order of events, supervising the other vendors, and a thorough clean up. But the major service a coordinator contributes is the opportunity for you and your guests to relax and enjoy the day, knowing that the big picture and all the small details are under control!
At Events for You, all of our day-of packages include a personalized planning calendar and budget, some planning time, help with errands the day before, coordinating the rehearsal, and a full day of coordinating -- from start to finish. The planning time is in case you need us for vendor meetings, site visits, or just a little extra advice. Our Day-of Coordinating packages range from $750-$1500.
What Does a Wedding Planner Do?
A wedding planner is more closely involved in the planning and implementation of your vision. Whether you are inexperienced at planning big events, planning a destination wedding from afar, or simply organizationally-challenged, you might benefit from the services of a wedding planner. A wedding planner is really a wedding "coach" -- guiding you through all the things you need to do and all the decisions you have to make in order to have a successful event. A wedding planner may help with budgeting, site selection, vendor vetting, contract review, style and decor, staffing, PR, itineraries, as well as day of coordination (see above). There is more planning time included in most wedding planning packages, and that time usually starts right away. It is important to remember that an experienced wedding planner may save you money by choosing vendors who offer a good value and by eliminating unnecessary expenses. Not to mention the time and stress they save you!
Our Wedding Planning packages range from $1200-$5000 and include all of the above.
Wedding Planning can also be done remotely. Click here for more information.
Something in Between?
Some couples need a little more planning, some more coordinating. Some need a little help; some need a lot. This is often called "partial planning," and can include a range of planning and coordinating services.
At Events for You, we can customize any package for you. That way you only purchase what you really need. Call or email us today for a free estimate!
