Since creating Events for You in 1993, Eleanor Ivey Campbell has helped hundreds of clients with weddings, parties, and reunions, and has produced notable events for the Junior League of Asheville, the Appalachian Off Road Tandem Bicycle Association, The Asheville Merchants Association, Proffitt's and Belk’s Department Stores, FolkMoot, Asheville Greenworks, the Irene Wortham Center, Southwestern Community College, and numerous corporate clients.
Eleanor is the event planning expert people all over Western North Carolina turn to for advice about their events, whether casual or formal. Her organizational skills, calm manner, clever ideas, and money saving advice make her a coveted wedding planner for all brides, but especially for the do-it-yourself bride or the bride on a budget. A native of Asheville, her knowledge and experience with local vendors make her extremely popular with destination brides.
She is also sought after by other wedding vendors for consulting and coaching on wedding business management and marketing to brides. Her expertise in this area has earned her the nickname, “Wedding Doctor,” a name she uses (as Wedding Doc) on her Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram sites, where she posts photos and comments about the event business and trends. Her network of contacts and vendors is extensive.
Eleanor graduated from Asheville School and earned a BA in Political Science with a focus on leadership from Duke University. In addition to her 26+ years of event planning experience, she also has many years experience in retail sales, wedding registry management, computers, marketing, and customer service. In 2017, she obtained a Crowd Management Certificate. In 2020, she earned the #CountonMeNC certification, signifying her company's commitment to the health and safety of clients, guests, and staff involved in any events they manage during the Covid19 crisis.
Eleanor spends her free time raising an amazing daughter, volunteering at Central United Methodist Church and the Asheville Downtown Association, and following college sports, especially college basketball. Her hobbies include reading, genealogy, history, British tv shows, cooking, and wine. Her professional memberships include the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Downtown Association, and the Asheville School Alumni Association. She is a former member of the board of the city of Asheville Parks and Recreation Department and the Junior League of Asheville.
