| Local
I
am a native of Asheville, North Carolina, and the South. My
father's side of my family has been in North Carolina since the 1600's. My
mother and her family are from Iceland. (OK, that's not local, unless
you're getting married there.) Local also means that I not only know the
well-known vendors, I also know the least-known vendors. Private venues,
vendors who are so good they don't need to advertise, there are even some
great people who are not on the Internet! Don't be fooled by a fancy
website. Ask around, and, especially ask someone local. |
Experienced
After being
in retail for many years, and involved in numerous weddings, I
purchased a bridal shop called Weddings for You in
1993. I found that I enjoyed
the planning side of weddings more than the retail side. So I
changed the name to Events for You, and have been doing
wedding and event planning ever since. Examples of events I
have managed are: weddings, reunions, holiday markets, trade shows, open
houses, and the Asheville Holiday Parade.
I graduated from Asheville School and have an A.B. Degree in Political
Science from Duke University.
I
have been planning weddings and events here for 17 years.

Affordable
Because I work out of my home
office, and only hire assistants as needed, I am able to keep my prices
low. There are no taxes or hidden fees. I do not charge fees or commissions
for using/not using certain vendors, and I do not accept referral fees
or kickbacks from vendors. |
What's Different About EFU?
The local part is different. The affordable part is different. I'm very
organized. I can see the forest and the trees at the same time. I'm more
of an event planner than an event designer, although I can be pretty
creative at times. I have been married before, twice, so I know it's not
all about the wedding. And I have been in this business longer than anyone
else out there. |
